March 29, 2021 – Vancouver, BC – Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd. (the “Company” or “ReconAfrica”) (TSX-V: RECO) (OTCQX: RECAF) (Frankfurt: 0XD) is pleased to provide the following corporate and operational updates
The Company is very happy to announce the addition of two new executives: Geoff Anderson and Diana McQueen. Geoff Anderson is joining the Company in the role of Director, New Ventures and Commercialization. “Geoff is a great talent and will bring a combination of exploration, financial modeling and monetization skills to the ReconAfrica team “stated Scot Evans, Chief Executive Officer. Diana McQueen, joins the companies Advisory Board bringing critical experience in the areas of government and stakeholder relations, and strategic planning. “Diana’s experience in government and NGO relations fills a critical need for ReconAfrica as we grow and execute our exploration programs” stated Mr. Evans.
Operationally, progress continues on the first well in the Kavango basin, the 6-2. This stratigraphic test well is in its final section, having taken several whole cores in recent days. ReconAfrica is pleased to announce a contract with Core Laboratories to provide analysis of the potential reservoir rocks in this important well. Core Labs is the world's largest and most technologically advanced independent provider of reservoir and petrophysical services to the oil and gas industry.
Corporate Social Responsibility update. Our CSR team has been working with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT), Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Land Reform (MAWLR), NamWater, Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), (NAMCOR) Regional Governments, all levels of traditional authorities and communities to implement multiple environmental and social projects. Critical to the region is the permitting and drilling of 4 community water wells and ongoing permitting for another 6 wells in both East and West Kavango. These wells are in addition to the 2 site water wells, that have been drilled to support operations. “ReconAfrica is committed to the growth of the potable water supply for the Kavango region, this is a critical project for the regions future” stated Scot Evans.
ReconAfrica is a junior, Canadian oil and gas company engaged in the opening of the newly discovered deep Kavango Sedimentary Basin, in the Kalahari Desert of northeastern Namibia and northwestern Botswana, where the Company holds petroleum licenses comprising approximately 8.5 million contiguous acres.
